My husband's work is forcing him to use an ai program that transcribes phone call conversations and it mistakenly recorded the word "poof" as "poop," and censored the word "p***" and marked the call for curse words. How old are we.

I cannot seem to put this in any other way, but the way countries like the US speak about LGBT issues in other countries feels like propaganda.
There is so much news that feels like purposeful misinformation, or incomplete facts meant to make their own population believe other countries have it "worse."
One that I constantly think about is the "Brasil is the place that kills LGBT the most." and while I do not disagree that the country can be very violent, I do not believe these numbers are what they are shown to be.
Brasil is a gigantic country, with an equally gigantic population and our LGBT population is not only very visibly out but recognized by our government, not only that but "hate crime" is something that is actually registered and punished as a crime. Are we that higher in violence or do we simply have records of when it actually happens? With how the US is, how can you say the US is not bigger but they simply do not report it, nor consider these hate crimes? Gay panic is an existing thing in there.
Is Brasil worse in any way or are we actually reporting this issue instead of hiding it?
i think that usamerican imperial bourgeois liberalism very cynically realized that they can use "LGBT" identity as a way of selling explicit imperialist intervention to "progressive" interests at home. it's homonationalism and pinkwashing all the way down! and so you have people who determine how LGBT Friendly A Country Is by how it measures on the Freedom Eagle Burger Scale. and then you have US interventions abroad which are done under the guise of "progressive liberation broadly," and the net result is that the consequence for genderized people in places with even an inkling of even vulgar anti-imperialist bent is that "being Pro-LGBT" becomes culturally and violently and, frankly, understandably associated with being "bourgeois ideology."
i digress. all this to say that i do very much agree, i genuinely think that these kinds of ideological social technologies were developed by imperialists as a way of manufacturing support at home for imperialist intervention.
